Mārtiņš Sesks/Renārs Francis crew won LRC3 class race and were the fastest Latvians in the overall standings during Rally Sarma this weekend. Sesks lost a little to R.Murakas in the final stage in the battle for the sixth position and finished in seventh place overall, 1 minute and 29 seconds behind the race leader T.Asunmaa. In the class LRC 3, Sesks took a convincing lead with a 3-minute advantage over the followers.
“Coming back to Rally Sarma after three years is a fantastic feeling. This was a debut race with a new car – Skoda Fabia R4 and thus very interesting to see and test our performance against other cars of equal and higher power. We executed and nailed the plan. For the first race with this all wheel car, results are good. It seems that season 2022 is starting on a positive note,” said Mārtiņš Sesks after the race.
Assessing the Skoda Fabia R4 or Rally2-Kit class car, the crew debuted in the first race of the season, Sesks said:
“If we continue racing with this car, there’s definitely a lot of work to do, like having more individual technical settings and polishing our driving technique.”
